The mission of the Horn African American for Peace (HAAP) is to educate and mobilize
Africans locally and nationally to speak against the gross human rights violations
committed on the people of the horn by the dictator regimes, and to advocate for
the protection of the basic human rights while working towards sustainable peace
in the region.
In carrying out its mission HAAP will:
- Give priority to addressing the most pressing human rights violations in the Horn
of Africa.
- Focus attention on those who are at risk and vulnerable on multiple fronts.
- Focus attention to revealing the potential of the peoples of horn Africa to secure
peace and stability in the Horn of Africa
- Bring all institutions from the horn to work towards lasting peace in the region.
- Continuously educate the respective African immigrant communities, other nationalities
including mainstream Americans and elected officials of all levels about the atrocities
being committed by the regime in Ethiopia, and demand their support to stop it.
Who We Are
HAAP is a nonprofit organization founded by representatives from the horn African
immigrant communities who advocate for the protection of all human rights and work
towards securing peace in the horn of Africa region.
HAAP is governed by Board of Directors and has an executive committee consisting
of a Chairman, a Secretary, and a Treasure.
HAAP welcomes all individuals and organizations who support its mission to join
hand and advocate for the voiceless people of the horn to bring about the lasting
peace in the region.
In pursuing its mission, HAAP will also work with all individuals and institutions
locally, nationally and internationally to raise awareness about human rights violations
and advocate for peace to prevail at the local, regional and international levels.
